I am a classical saxophonist and music educator based in Auckland, New Zealand.
Born in 1977 and raised on Amami Ōshima, Kagoshima, Japan, began playing the saxophone at the age of ten. Musical development was shaped by concert band music, classical music, and the rich cultural heritage of the Amami Islands.
Graduated from the Department of Japanese Education, Faculty of Education and Welfare Science, Oita University. After relocating to New Zealand, achieved the highest mark in the country in the performance examinations of Trinity College London. Subsequently studied classical saxophone at the University of Auckland and the University of Waikato, beginning a professional performing career while still a student.Places particular importance on a singing tone, expressive musicality, and a natural connection with audiences.
As a soloist and chamber musician, performs a wide-ranging repertoire spanning Baroque to contemporary works. Performance collaborations have included Auckland Philharmonia, Royal New Zealand Ballet, Scottish Ballet, Auckland Chamber Orchestra, Manukau Symphony Orchestra, and Rentaro Chamber Orchestra Kyushu.
An active chamber musician and member of the ensemble *Trionique*, selected as a finalist in the Auckland Chamber Music Society Competition. Ongoing work with saxophone quartets and chamber ensembles continues to explore the instrument’s diverse tonal colours and expressive possibilities.
Collaborations extend beyond the classical field, including performances with New Zealand band Crowded House, acclaimed Indian music director and composer Jitendra Kulkarni, and singer-songwriter and author Saho Terao.
A passionate advocate for music education, formerly served as president of the New Zealand Saxophone Society. These initiatives have provided valuable international learning opportunities for emerging musicians.

Life brings days of joy, days of challenge, and at times, days when we must face sorrow.
I hope that music can gently embrace each of these moments and become a presence that celebrates life itself.
At my concerts, I often perform songs that hold special memories for the audience.
For some, they are melodies that bring back the excitement of youth. For others, they awaken treasured memories of loved ones and precious times shared together.
Music has the power to transcend time and connect hearts.
It would be my greatest joy if my music could become a small gift that accompanies you throughout life's journey.
I look forward to continuing to share meaningful connections, memorable moments, and heartfelt experiences through music with all of you.
